Super Hi-Flo Suction
Safety is important as such we use strong but safe Super Hi Flo suction with vacuum break system. The system features an air barb on the elbow, connected to 3/4” vinyl tubing which should be raised up to the lip of the spa (above the waterline). In case of obstruction of suction fitting openings, the differential pressure causes air to be pulled into the pump suction line. As a result, the pump will lose prime and breaks the vacuum behind the suction cover. The Waterway Super Hi Flo spa suction with vacuum break is easy to install and service.

ASME A112.19.8-2007, Suction Fittings for Use in Swimming Pools, Wading Pools, Spas and Hot Tubs, paragraph 7.7.1 concerns marking of Suction Fittings (drain covers). The a-2008 addenda contains an errata correction to paragraph 7.7.1 to remove the symbol and inclusion of the document number on the fitting. For those manufactures that currently have product that includes the ASME symbol as outlined in paragraph 7.7.1 or inclusion of the document number on the fitting, they may continue to sell this product but shall not manufacture additional product using the symbol or the document number. If the ASME symbol or document number is not permanently marked on the fitting it shall be removed. The Virginia Graeme Baker Act references A112.19.8-2007 standard.
